Overview
Ronseal Garden Paint is a versatile paint that can be used on exterior surfaces including wood, brick, terracotta, and metal (may require a primer). Add colour to your garden whilst adding protection against weathering. Rainproof in as little as 1 hour and will resist cracking and peeling when dry to keep the surface looking fresher for longer. Available in a wide range of colours including Pebble, Cornflower, Sage and White Ash. Comes in a handy 250ml tester pot size for small projects.

Preparation
Always ensure the surface is cleaned and prepared before application.
For Wood
- Sand the item with a 120 grit sandpaper working in the direction of the grain.
- Wipe down with white spirit and a cloth and ensure all the dust is removed.
- Any mould or algae should be cleaned away and rotten wood should either be cut away or hardened.
- New wood needs to be left to weather for six weeks to ensure all coatings have washed away.
For Brick or Stone
- Using a stiff brush, brush away any dust or debris and wipe clean before painting.
For Terracotta
- Sand down the surface until any glaze is properly removed.
- Apply water to the terracotta and if it beads, you will need to keep sanding to remove the glaze.
For Metals
- Metal should be primed with an appropriate primer.
Application
Stir the product and test a small area to ensure you are happy with the colour and adhesion
- Thoroughly stir the paint and ensure all colour pigments that may have settled are mixed.
- Apply the first coat, when painting wood brush in the direction of the grain.
- Allow to dry for four hours.
- For the best coverage and protect apply 3 coats allowing 4 hours between each coat.
- If you are painting a smooth surface lightly sand between the second and third coat.
- Paint will be rainproof after 1 hour of third coat.
Note: Always follow the manufacturer instructions found on the tin.
Aftercare & Storage
Cleaning
To help your Garden Paint last as long as possible, make sure furniture is regularly wiped clean.
Maintenance
If the finish beings to look worn over time, apply a fresh coat to maintain the colour and protection.
